Dhaka University is our pride. At various times, the democratic rights of the nation have been restored through the students of this University. But now a days due to moral decay of most of the students we are not getting brave roles from them like before. InshaAllah, in coming days this University known as Oxford of the east, will regain its former heritage.

The university was founded in 1921 under the Dacca University Act 1920 of the Indian Legislative Council. [6] Nawab Bahadur Sir Khwaja Salimullah, who pioneered the university in Dhaka, donated 600 acres of land from his estate for this purpose. [7] It is modeled after British Universities. [8] Currently it is the largest public research university in Bangladesh, with a student body of 46,150 and a faculty of 1,992.

The president of the country is challencolr of the university. Currently 40k+ Student study here. There is 19 President hall 14 for male and 5 for females. Notable alumni include Satyendra Nath Bose, known for Bose-Einstein statistics and the theory of Bose-Einstein condensate,  Muhammad Yunus  (winner 2006 Nobel Peace Prize, pioneer of microcredit),  Natyaguru Nurul Momen  (pioneer literature, theatre & cultural doyen; who was both an early student and teacher of DU),  Serajul Islam Choudhury  (the country's leading public intellectual and writer),   (physicist),   (one of the founding fathers of South Asian diplomacy),   (20th-century Bengali poet),
(the founding father of Bangladesh but he never got any degree from DU).
DU is the highest ranked university in Bangladesh ranking 691-700 worldwide according to the  of 2023 and ranks between 601 and 800 globally in  of 2023.

From 2022 to 23 I worked so hard to get admit into this institute. Only Allah knows how much I've sacrifice my sleep to eat. But sadly I didn't get chance to admit into university of dhaka. I pray for everyone else who is suffering from there admission phase. First time when I went there for my exams I fell in love with that place. Allah knows how much I adored DU, IBA. Every corner of this university is just effortlessly beautiful and eye soothing. After school this place felt like home. My one and only dream is to complete my msc degree from here.please pray for me whoever read this

স্যার সলিমুল্লাহর দান করা ৬০০ একর জমিতেই ১৯২১ সালে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয় ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়।

Just another public university running by its old name and fame. Education / academic support is 3/10 (personal exp). Environment (4/10). It could be used as national heritage place but nothing more than that. Kudos to the students who survives and so something good in their life by their own effort mostly. And the university will obviously take the credit later on.

It’s an awesome place to have gossiping with friends. I met my friends after a long time in the place. It got increasingly a beautiful scenario amid this lockdown. I always love this place bcz it’s the top University of Bangladesh

Dhaka University, most precious place for study. It develops more than that time I passed Hon's and MA on 2001 and 2002. I visit there for DU 100 yrs. Library, food places and many more buildings develop and renovate there that feels happy me.

University of Dhaka opened first day of July, 1921. The first Vice-Chancellor of the University was Sir P. J. Hartog. It started activities by 60 teachers and 877 students only. Now the University of Dhaka is a renowned University in our country. We feel proud of this university. Now it has various Faculty, Department, Institute, Residential Hall etc.
