The best elite police force in Bangladesh. Saw some drills of their counter terrorism operation just all on a sudden in visit to HQ. This force is as most popular and effective police organization among all law enforcement agencies. Many units of this force are managed by officers from military. RAB is seen as one of the best counter terrorism outfit in the country. It has 10 batallions and many camps /companies scattered around the country. It has approximately 10000 forces members.

This is the Headquarters of Rapid action battalion, an elite force of Bangladesh Police.
It is situated at Cargo Admin Building near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Under the command and supervision of Director General of RAB forces planning, coordinating and implementing all activities including RAB operations, intelligence and administration is being done here. Under RAB headquarters, there are offices of the Additional Director Generals (Operations and Administration), 08 wings (Operations, intelligence, Legal & media, Air, Admin & finance, Communications & MIS, Investigation & Forensic, Training & orientation), a cell and a training school in Gazipur.

এখানে আপনি কোন রেফারেন্স ব্যাতীত প্রবেশ করতে পারবেন না । আমি এটার ভেতর একজন ডিরেক্টরের সাথে দেখা করতে গিয়েছিলাম । তাদের সিকিউরিটি সিস্টেম এবং স্মার্টনেস আমার কাছে চরম লেগেছিল । মিলিটারি অফিসার অপারেটেড তাদের কোর ম্যানেজমেন্ট দারুণ স্মার্ট এবং দক্ষ । যে সমস্যা নিয়ে গিয়েছিলাম তা খুব দ্রুতই তারা ট্র্যাক ডাউন করে পেট্রোলিং করার জন্য প্রিপেয়ার্ড হয়ে যায় । কর্নেল পদমর্যাদার ডিরেক্টরের সহযোগিতাপূর্ণ মনোভাব বেশ ভাল লেগেছিল । ওনার নির্দেশে এসাইনমেন্ট এক্সিকিউট করা মেজর পদমর্যাদার অফিসারটিও বেশ আন্তরিক এবং দক্ষ ছিলেন ।

মোটামুটি বড় একটি দপ্তর । একদম পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন ।

RAB stands for Rapid Action Battalion. Rapid Action Battalion or RAB, is an elite anti-crime and anti-terrorism unit. It consists of members of the Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Ansar. It was formed on 26 March 2004 as RAT (Rapid Action Team), and commenced operations on 14 April 2004. The Headquarters of this unit is situated here.
