Arguably the best collection of non fiction books can be found here. The arrangements of books inspire ease of locating the desired book. The staffs are really cooperative, and most likely refer you to the right corner. Their online service is top notch too. Beside they offer a rare opportunity of becoming a part of the community. Certainly a great effort at changing the intellectual landscape of the country

I just fall for such a great place.
Reading in that kind of space with a lot of option at fingertip even sounds cool too.

Absolutely fantastic. If you don't be a book lover you may fall in the affection of books when you visit this particular book reading store. The books are nicely kept in decorated shelf. Enough spaces are there to read and walk in between the shelves. The ambience is the most attractive one over there. I suggest to visit there once and don't know you might be a regular visitor after your first visit. Supporting stuff are really helpful and cooperative.

At least 50 percent employees/attendants (some of them claim to be owner party) are very much impolite. You risk insults or a quarrel at any point, especially if you seek help for searching any book. Sometimes they appear as welcoming while at other times they will ask you to stand up from the sit you just sat on to look inside a book, because only members (membership requires a hefty amount) can sit. Although this policy may have recently changed.

হাজারো বইয়ের সমাহার! জ্ঞান পিপাসুদের আড্ডাখানা। যেখানে বসে বসে বই পড়াও যায় এবং বই কিনেও নেওয়া যায়। এটি ঐতিহ্যবাহী একটি লাইব্রেরি। যা হাজারো জ্ঞান পিপাসুদের জ্ঞান তৃষ্ণা মিটিয়ে যাচ্ছে কয়েক দশক ধরে। এটি শাহবাগের প্রাণকেন্দ্র আজিজ সুপার মার্কেটের অপজিটে এবং জাতির জনক বঙ্গবন্ধু শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান হল, ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উত্তর পূর্ব কোণে অবস্থিত। এখানে অসংখ্য জ্ঞান পিপাসুদের আনাগোনা দেখা যায়। যা দেশের মানুষের লাইব্রেরির প্রতি আগ্রহের ছবি ফুটিয়ে তোলে। তবে এটি অতটা প্রচারণা চালাতে পারেনি। অনেকে হয়তো এই সম্পর্কে ভালো জানে। এর জন্য তাদের উদ্যোগ নেওয়া উচিত।

Been going here for last five years. Nothing disheartened me like recent times.
Rude behavior, more commercial attitude and constant nagging of stuffs just gave me terrible experience recently. Stop treating us like thieves for heaven's sake.

In a word, Pathak Shamabesh isn't what it used to be anymore.

খুবই সুন্দর ও মনোরম পরিবেশ। শহরের মাঝে দাঁড়িয়ে থেকেও একদম কোলাহল মুক্ত এই স্থানটি। বই প্রেমিদের জন্য এটি এক স্বপ্নের জায়গা।
দেশি বিদেশীসহ এখানে এলে পেয়ে জাবেন আপনার কাঙ্ক্ষিত সকল বই এমনকি ছোট বাচ্চাদের বই রাখতেও ভূল করেননি।

আপনি চাইলে এখানে এসে বসে বসে বই পড়তে পারেন আপনার অবসর সময়ে।

শহরে জীবনে ব্যস্ততা বাসা বাধে, মনে জমে ক্লান্তির ছাপ। কথিত আছে বই প্রেমি মানুষ যখন বই দেখে তখন তার সকল ক্লান্তি ভূলে যায় এক নিমিষেই। এটা এমনই একটা জায়গা যেখানে আসলে আপনি ভূলে যাবেন আপনার জীবনের ব্যস্ততম ক্লান্তিগুলো। একবার প্রবেশ করলে আর কিছুতেই বেরুতে মন চাইবেনা।।।

Oh I loved this place! They provided us with teas. I can go there anytime now from college. Brilliant library, average collections of books, cool environment, and nice ambience it has. So recommended.

Nice collection of Books from different genre. English, Bengali, Indian books are also available.

পাঠক সমাবেশ পছন্দনীয় একটি জায়গা। বাংলা এবং ইংলিশ সকল ধরনের বই এখানে পাওয়া যায়। গ্রন্থাগারটি ভালোই।

Beautiful interior. Original Books (english, bangla) are available but price is really high.they give 20% commision on bangladeshi books and 15 % commision on english books. Membership service is also available.

বই প্রেমিদের জন্য অসাধারণ সুন্দর একটা জায়গা। এখানে অসংখ্য বইয়ের সঙ্কলন পাবেন। বাংলা বইয়ের পাশাপাশি ইংরেজি বইও পাবেন। অনেক রেয়ার বই, যেগুলো বাইরে পাচ্ছেন না সেগুলো সবই হয়তো এখানে পেতে পারেন। বইয়ের দামগুলাও মুটামুটি রিজনেবল।
আপনি চাইলে বই না কিনেও এখানে বসে পড়তে পারেন। পাঠকদের জন্য সুন্দর পরিবেশ সৃষ্টি করা হয়েছে এখানে। খুবই শান্ত এবং নিরিবিলি পরিবেশে এখানে বসে আপনি আপনার পছন্দের বই পড়তে পারেন। আপনি যদি বই প্রেমি হোন তাহলে অবশ্যই পাঠক সমাবেশ ঘুরে দেখার অনুরোধ রইলো।

সুনীল, শীর্ষেন্দু, সমরেশের মতো অতি বিখ্যাত লেখকের বইও কেন এতো যৎসামান্য তা আপনারাই জানেন ।

আমার অসম্ভব প্রিয় একটা জায়গা। বহু বছর যাবত যাই। ইদানীং Quantity বাড়লেও, কালেকশনের Quality অনেক কমে গেছে যেন। খুব কমন কমন বই পাওয়া যায় না। পরিচালকদের এদিকটা দ্রুত দেখা উচিত।

Loved the environment. One one of my favourite place. Calm and quiet place. You can read and buy books peacefully.

A lovely bookhouse for bookworms. Some of the books i wanted was missing but everything is nice and pleasant. The stuffs were cordial too.

This is one of best book store in Bangladesh. It is also the largest one I have been to, and I have been to all the big ones in dhaka. If you are looking for a very organized book store, this isn't the one for you. But if you want to go on a journey and walk around to explore the vats number of shelfs. Then this is the perfect place for you. They have both Bangla and English books. Though it feels that have a lot more bangla books than English ones. But the ratio would be 60 to 40. Which is very impressive. One of the other thing that impressed me was their sitting arrangement. Its not cluttered in one place. It's spread around the whole store to fit the decor and vibe of this place. The only negative side this location is their organization. If that's what you are looking for. As it's very hard to find the book you want but they do have wonderful staff who will find it for you. So I would implore you to talk to them. Every book lover should visit this place atleast once in their life. You will feel you belong here and no where else.
