Jahangirnagar University

The university stands on the west side of the Asian Highway, popularly known as the Dhaka-Aricha Road, and is 32 kilometres away from the capital. Spread over an area of 697.56 acres (2.8 km2), the campus surrounded by the Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC) on the south, and the Savar Cantonment on the northeast, on the north of which is the National Monument (Jatiyo Smriti Soudho) and a large dairy farm on the east. JU is considered as the most beautiful university in Bangladesh. The topography of the land with its gentle rise and plains is pleasing to the eyes. The water features sprawled around the campus make an excellent habitat for the winter birds that flock in every year in the thousands and consequently, it is a site frequented by many bird watchers.  On 19 January 2017, the university arranged a bird fair in its Zahir Rayhan auditorium. The Shahid Minar  (martyrs' monument) of JU is the tallest in Bangladesh, 71 feet high and made of ceramic bricks on a base 52 feet in circumference. The height signifies the war of independence fought in 1971 and the circumference refers to the language movement of 1952. It is designed by architect Robiul Hossain.

The university is an autonomous body managed by an executive council known as 'The Syndicate'. Its statutes need ratification by the Senate of the university, which meets at least once a year to do the same. The Senate passes the annual budget of the university, reviews its academic matters, and elects a panel of three nominees for the position of its vice-chancellor once every four years.the selection and appointment are made by the president of Bangladesh, who is the chancellor of the university. The chancellor also appoints the pro-vice-chancellor and the treasurer of the university.

One of the most beautiful University campus I have ever seen. The university's so huge. Atmosphere is great. I went for admission exam. Though campus is far away from Dhaka city but it's certainly beautiful campus.

প্রাণের ক্যাম্পাস জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। কি চান আপনি? সবই পাবেন এই জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে। সকাল বেলা ঘুম থেকে উঠেই পাখির কলরব শুনতে পাওয়া যায়। যেদিকে তাকাই শুধু সবুজ আর সবুজ। প্রতি ঋতুতেই কোন না কোন ফুল ফুটে। এখানে রয়েছে নানান রকম ফলের গাছ। দুই ধার দিয়ে বড় বড় গাছের নিচ দিয়ে চলে গেছে পিচঢালা রাস্তা। এই নগরীর প্রতিটি ইট কথা বলে। সন্ধ্যায় রয়েছে মুরাদ চত্ত্বর কিংবা বটতলায় চায়ের আড্ডা। কেউ কেউ ব্যস্ত মুক্তমঞ্চের সাংস্কৃতিক অনুষ্ঠান নিয়ে। কেউ কেউ সেন্ট্রাল ফিল্ডে প্রিয় মানুষটার সাথে খোলা আকাশের নিচে সময় কাটাচ্ছে। গভীর রাতে রয়েছে হলের ছাদ, গিটারের শব্দ।
যে কেউ-ই ঘুরতে আসতে পারে এই নগরীতে। প্রাণের ক্যাম্পাস জাহাঙ্গীরনগর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়, তুমি চিরদিন এমনই থেকো। ️️️

A journey started from January 26,2013 as a student of 42nd batch at Jahangirnagar University. I have graduated from here with B. Sc.and M. S.degree from the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology and left the campus on 2019.

Its first vice-chancellor,  Mafizuddin Ahmed  (PhD in chemistry,  Penn State) took up office on 24 September 1970. The first group of students, a total of 150, were enrolled in four departments: Economics, Geography, Mathematics, and Statistics. Its formal inauguration was delayed until 12 January 1971, when the university was launched by Rear Admiral S. M. Ahsan, the chancellor.
It operated as a project until 1973, when the 'Jahangirnagar Muslim University Act' was amended as the 'Jahangirnagar University Act'.
In 2014, the university had 16,781 students, 755 teachers, and 1,430 other employees. It has been ranked 3rd several times in national public university rankings.

A very renowned university of Bangladesh. It is very famous for its natural environment.every year a lot of migratory birds come to the big lakes of this campus. A huge number of tourists come here to see its natural beauty. This university has a very good history of novel related study and practice. There some other subjects whic are taught best here among all other universities of the country. Because of being very adjascent to the capital this is the scond choice of student to be admitted.getting chance to study here is not easy, need strong prepareation for admission test. I hope this univesity will prosper continously.

This is one of the largest University in Bangladesh. It has the campus of 697.56 acres. It is situated in Savar, Dhaka. The inside view of this university can not be compared with any other places. This has a sanctuary for the migratory birds. This place offers great scenic beauty around the year although I like the winter's view most. There is place named "বটতলা" here. There all the restaurants are lacated. Anyone can find the best mashed items here. Those food are so good as well as they are reasonable in price. You must visit it one and explore what can not be said in words.

A place constitute with blessing. Natural beauty covers the whole area. A great number of birds are seen. Place is quite, comparatively much precise and way down of beautiful views all over.

The best place for me and i have huge memory here because i have passed the most of the valuable time here. I have studied here for 6 years and my experiences is amazing. I am recommending this place highly. This the largest University of my country.
