Islamic University of Technology  (ইসলামিক ইউনিভার্সিটি অব টেকনোলজি), commonly known as IUT, is an private international university located in Gazipur,  Bangladesh. IUT offers undergraduate and graduate programs in Engineering and Technical Education. It is the only international Engineering university in Bangladesh.

IUT is a subsidiary organ of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation  (OIC). The university receives endowment from OIC member states and offers scholarships to some students in the form of tuition waiver and free accommodation.

The campus was designed by Turkish architect Mehmet Doruk Pamiran MIT graduate.

[6][7]Islamic University of Technology, established in 1978, was first known as Islamic Center for Technical, Vocational Training and Research (ICTVTR). It was proposed in the 9th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) held in Dakar, Senegal on 24–28 April 1978. The establishment of IUT in Dhaka, Bangladesh was then approved by the foreign ministers. All the members of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) agreed to co-operate for the implementation of the project.

The implementation of the infrastructure commenced with the holding of the first meeting of the Board of Governors in June 1979. Foundation stone of ICTVTR was laid by president Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh on 27 March 1981 in the presence of Yasir Arafat, the then-chairman of the PLO, and Habib Chatty, the then-Secretary General of OIC. The construction of the campus was completed in 1987 at a cost of US$11 Million[10][US$25 Million (2019) ]. ICTVTR was formally inaugurated by Hossain Mohammad Ershad, president of Bangladesh on 14 July 1988.

The 22nd ICFM held in Casablanca, Morocco on 10–11 December 1994 renamed the ICTVTR as Islamic Institute of Technology (IIT). IIT was formally inaugurated by Begum Khaleda Zia, prime minister of Bangladesh on 21 September 1995. The 28th ICFM held in Bamako, Republic of Mali on 25–29 June 2001 commended the efforts of IIT and decided to rename the IIT as Islamic University of Technology (IUT). IUT was formally inaugurated by Begum Khaleda Zia, prime minister of Bangladesh on 29 November 2001. [17]

Over the past three decades IUT has expanded with the construction of new academic buildings, halls of residence, and student facilities.

The university started offering regular courses from December 1986 and completed 35 academic years in 2022. Islamic Commission for Economic, Cultural and Social Affairs consisting of all member states of the OIC acts as the Joint General Assembly of the subsidiary organs including IUT. This assembly acts as the General Assembly of the university. It determines the general policy and provides general guidance. It examines the activities of the university and submits recommendations to the ICFM. Internal rules and regulations which govern the internal activities are shaped through the decisions of this assembly. It elects the members of the governing body and examines the whole budget for a year. The Finance Control Organ of the university audits the financial possessions of the university and submits it to this assembly. [17]
Governing Board
It is composed of nine members including a member from the host country who are selected by the Joint General Assembly. Members are selected as per geographical distribution and importance of the countries and people. The secretary general of OIC or his representative and the vice-chancellor of the university become members of this board by their status. They are included as ex-officio members. This board focuses on the precision activities and programs of IUT and sends recommendations to the Joint General Assembly. This is the body that consults about the promoting measures of IUT with General Secretariat and it approves the final curricula of training and research programs. One of its prime jobs is to grant degrees, diplomas and certificates according to academic regulations.

অধিকাংশ ছেলেরাই দাড়ি রেখেছে, এটা ভালো লাগলো + টাখনুর ওপর প্যান্ট।

বাংলাদেশের মধ্যে অবস্থিত একটি আন্তর্জাতিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। যেটির পরিচালনায় OIC সংস্থা রয়েছে।বাংলাদেশে মোট দুইটি আন্তর্জাতিক বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় রয়েছে তার মধ্যে IUT একটি যার অবস্থান গাজিপুরের বোর্ডবাজার সংলগ্ন এবং অন্যটি চট্টগ্রামে। IUT তে সাধারণত দেশি (বাংলাদেশি) এবং বিদেশি উভয় ছাত্র ছাত্রী পড়াশোনা করে থাকে। এখানে ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের কঠোর নিরাপত্তা দেয়া হয়ে থাকে। এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীরা এক ভর্তি যুদ্ধ সম্মুখীন হয় এবং যারা সেই যুদ্ধে বিজয় লাভ করে (ভর্তি পরীক্ষায় চান্স পাওয়া) তারাই ভর্তি হতে পারে এখানে।

There is nothing to review actually. Studied here for 4 years. I would say no campus in this country is as beautiful as this one. The architecture was designed meticulously by MIT graduate Pamir Mehmet. Still the beauty of this campus leave us in awe. Even if you don't get chance. Please do apply and visit our campus. You won't regret it. I promise.

Beautiful and clean campus with red buildings, artificial lake surrounded Masjid with five Pillers of Islam and greenery plants will attract everybody and enjoy their times. Specially Students of IUT are lucky to have such a good campus.

This university provides high quality engineering and technical education in 5 departments. However, the only con is, the cost of education is relatively high compared to other private universities.

Very beautiful University. It seems like floating architecture. Sadness and anxiety are integral part of human life. Sadness and anxiety are natural emotions that Allah SWT has created in us. And everyone experiences these feelings. The certain degree of worry and anxiety exists in every single one of us. And it's completely normal and natural. Always keep in mind that Allah SWT has created a wide range of emotions and we will all experience these emotions. Even the Prophets peace and blessings be upon them all have experienced sadness and anxiety.

When we are covered with sadness and anxiety, sometimes Shaitan tricks us, tells us we are facing these because Allah SWT is angry with us. That is represented by Shaitan. If we believe so, It means we don't have faith in Allah SWT.

It’s a Heaven. Fresh air and a refreshing environment. It’s an International University with moral education. IUT is trying to build Global Citizens with moral excellence.

IUT, Short Name of Islamic University of Technology. This is a Autonomous University, operated by OIC. Here only Muslim Students can be take admission from muslim country, who are the member of OIC. The campus is wonderful. The academic activity of this university is very much wellmanaged. Here also Following programme is avalable, Masters, Phd, Diploma in Technical Education, B.sc in Technical Education and M.sc in Technical Education.

It is the most popular university located in Gazipur. The most unusual thing is that all the buildings and architecture here are red. I also noticed that there is a pond in front of the campus and it is dangerous to see next to the pond but I don't know why it is dangerous to swim in this pond but I want to know.

A well known university of Bangladesh and one of the best among the universities. When you enter the campus, the red stones will amaze you with the fresh presence of green. If I talk about the environment, it is awesome. The classrooms are well furnished and the teachers are also excellent. Because of being an international institute, students will co-operate with foreign students. The clubs and annual events or fests create chances to exhibit talents. Overall, this is an amazing place for education.
