Mostly preferred for seminar, round table, policy dialogues, meetings, conferences etc. Proximity to press club means greater participation of jurnalists.

আঠারো শতকের মাঝে ব্রিটিশরা এদেশে যে কলোনি গড়ে তুলে ছিলো তার ছাপ এখনো খুজে পাওয়া যায় বিভিন্ন শহরের বিভিন্ন পুরাতন বিল্ডিং গুলাতে।তার মধ্যে বর্তমান CIRDAP এর পুরাতন বিল্ডিংটি অন্যতম।সেযুগের সেই চামেলি হাউজই এখন CIRDAP. ভবনটি আজও তার গৌরবময় জৌলুস ধরে রেখেছে।এটি অনেক সময় গেস্ট হাউজ হিসাবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। বর্তমানে এখানে আরো নতুন ২ টি বিল্ডিং আছে যার একটি আধুনিক সুবিধা সংবলিত ভবন, যেখানে বিভিন্ন সভা, সেমিনার অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।যেমন BIGF, BDIGF, BTRC এছাড়াও অনেক প্রতিষ্ঠান এখানে সেমিনার করে থাকে।
overall environment is noticeable. And it represent the beauty of dhaka.

This is an ideal place for medium size conference & workshop. People can take rent hall for meeting, seminar & workshop.

It was a great place for greet and meet. I had the opportunity to go there in a conference. The atmosphere was so calm and quiet. Greenish environment and unique architecture of those buildings made it undoubtedly beautiful!

ঔপনিবেশিক স্থাপত্যকলা একটা চমৎকার নিদর্শন ঢাকার তোপখানা রোডের চামেলী/চামেরী হাউস।

চামেরী হাউস মূলত: নির্মিত হয়েছিল ইংরেজ প্রশাসকদের জন্য ১৯২৬ সালে, ১৯০৫ সালে ঢাকা পূর্ববঙ্গ এর রাজধানী হবার পরে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় এবং মিন্টো রোড এলাকায় অনেকগুলো ভবন নির্মান করা হয়েছিল প্রশাসকদের থাকবার জন্য, চামেরী হাউস তাদের মধ্যে একটি!

রানী দ্বিতীয় এলিজাবেথ ঢাকা পরিভ্রমনের সময়ে এই চামেরী হাউসেই থেকেছিলেন! বর্তামনে অবশ্য আপনারা এই ভবনের সামনে নামফলকে দেখতে পাবেন "চামেলি হাউস"! যদিও চামেলি আরব চামরী শব্দের অর্থ একই, তবে ইতিহাসবিদ মুনতাসির মামুন উল্লেখ করেছেন আদিতে ভবনটি পরিচিত ছিল 'চামেরী হাউস' নামেই।

ব্রিটিশ আমলে অবিবাহিত ইংরেজ সিভিলিয়ানরা কয়েকজন মিলে যে ভবনে থাকতো তাকে বলা হতো 'চামেরী' (ইংরেজি চাম বা বন্ধু থেকে) । বঙ্গভঙ্গের পর যতদিন ঢাকা রাজধানী ছিল ততদিন এটা ইংরেজ ব্যাচেলর প্রশাসকদের আবাসস্থল বা মেস হিসাবেই ব্যবহৃত হতো! পরবর্তী কালে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় স্থাপিত হলে, রমনা এলাকার সব ভবন বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের কাছে হস্তান্তর করা হয়, তখন চামেরি হাউস হয়ে যায় বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের বাংলো! অধ্যাপকদের বাসস্থান হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হতো। পরবর্তিতে ১৯২৯ সালে মুসলিম হলের কিছু আবাসিক ছাত্রকে বাংলোটি বরাদ্ধ দেয়া হয়েছিল!

১৯৩৮ সালে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রিদের হল নিসাবে নির্ধারণ করা হয়েছিল, ১৯৫৭ সালে রোকেয়া হল নির্মানে আগ পর্যন্ত এটা ছাত্রি নিবাসই ছিল! এরপর চামেরী হাউস সরকারের তত্বাবধানে চলে যায়, বর্তমানে এখানে 'সিরডাপ' এর কার্যালায়। হাইকোর্টের মোড়ে, শিক্ষা অধিদপ্তরের পাশে গেলেই দেখতে পাওয়া যাবে চামেরী হাউসকে!

Initially it had six members countries and has grown to fifteen. [1]

The agency is headquartered in Chameli House, a British Raj-era mansion in front of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in Dhaka. Present director-general is Thailand's Dr. Cherdsak Virapat.

Meeting developments:
i) First Ministerial Meeting was held in 1987
ii) Second Ministerial Meeting on Rural Development in Asia and the Pacific was held 24–28 January 2010 in Dhaka

Objective:
a) To assist national action and promote regional co-operation relating to Integrated Rural Development (IRD), in the region
b) To act as a servicing institution for its member states
c) To encourage joint collective activities to benefit the member countries both individually and collectively
d) To poverty alleviation through people's participation in the development process.

It is an International Conference Hall and it’s well decorated. There is a Library in this campus.

এটি চামেলী হাউজ নামে পরিচিত ছিল, এই বাড়িতে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ছাত্রীরা থাকতেন। সময়ের প্রয়োজনে ছাত্রীরা ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের অন্য হলে বসবাস শুরু করেন। পরে চামেলী হাউজ সিরডাপে পরিণত হয়।

Basically, it's a convention center among Dhaka city based on rural development corporation. It's an international conference center. So not only Bangladesh but also abroad programs are hosted here. Here located a beautiful nature and greenery. Last time a huge program named "Youth Mock parliament 12th session" held there with co organization of hunger free world and youth against hunger Bangladesh

A place of great gathering with panoramic views.

The Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) is a regional, intergovernmental and autonomous organisation. It was established on 6 July 1979 at the initiative of the countries of the Asia-Pacific region and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations with support from several other UN bodies and donors. The Centre came into being to meet the felt needs of the developing countries at that time as an institution for promoting integrated rural development in the region.

From the original six members, CIRDAP has now grown up as a Centre of 15 member countries. The member-countries are Afghanistan,  Bangladesh  (Host State),  Fiji,  India,  Indonesia,  Iran,  Lao PDR,  Malaysia,  Myanmar,  Nepal,  Pakistan,  Philippines,  Sri Lanka,  Thailand and Vietnam.

Operating through designated contact ministries and link institutions in member countries, CIRDAP promotes regional cooperation. It plays a supplementary and reinforcing role in supporting and furthering the effectiveness of integrated rural development programmes in Asia and the Pacific.

I have few programs there. Lots of open space and all standard facilities available there. Venue rent is quite double there compared to others. Food menu rate is also quite double.

Quite nice place for organizing any seminar. Spacious, well equipped with all facilities including huge car parking area. Nice and convenient location.

The Center for Integrated Rural Development in Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP or CIRDAP) is a Bangladesh-based inter-state organization, aimed at rural development and poverty alleviation. It was initially formed on July 8,1989, in the Asia-Pacific region and was initially composed of six member countries of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

It is headquartered in Dhaka's Chameri Bhavan and in Fiji's Tevita Bosioeka is its president-director.
