এখানে সব ধরণের বাংলাদেশি প্রকাশনার বই পাইকারি দামে পাবেন । নীলক্ষেতের মত এখানেও পুরনো বই পাবেন । আমি এখান থেকে গাইড বই লিস্ট করে নিয়ে প্রায় পাইকারি দরে নিজের জন্য খুচরা কিনেছিলাম ২০০৪ সালে । এখানকার পরিবেশ অত্যন্ত জঘন্য । ওপেন সুয়ারেজ সিস্টেম দিয়ে মানুষের মল ভেসে যেতে দেখেছিলাম । এরপর শেষ ২০১৪ সাল পর্যন্ত এখানে গিয়ে একই পরিস্থিতি দেখেছিলাম । অত্যন্ত ঘন এবং নোংরা একটা জায়গা । প্রকাশনীগুলোর বিল্ডিংগুলোতে ঢুকলে বোটকা গন্ধে দম বন্ধ হয়ে যেতে চায় । আমাদের দেশ গরীব কিন্তু নোংরা থাকাটা গরিবীর উপর নির্ভর করে না । কেউ গরীব হলেও সদিচ্ছা থাকলে পরিষ্কার পরিচ্ছন্ন থাকতে পারে । যাই হোক, এটা হল প্রকাশনা বা স্টেশনারি দ্রব্যাদির ঘাটি । এখান থেকে কম দামে এসকল পণ্য কিনতে পারবেন ।
