The History Of Akij Group
An industrialist, entrepreneur and social worker, SK. AKIJ UDDIN was born in the village Madhyadanga under Fultala upazila of Khulna in 1929. His mother’s name is Matina Begum. His father Sheikh Mofijuddin was an ordinary local trader and led a very humble life. Sheikh Akijuddin was the only child of his parents as his father was also the only son of his grandparents. Akij was admitted into a school, but used to remain away from the school, as he was required to give time in his father’s business. The economic distress of the family led Akij to earn for the family.

During the Great Famine of 1942-43, Akij left home and reached calcutta in search of a job or business. Having no relative in Calcutta, Akij made the Shialdah Railway Station his shelter. He used to search some kind of work all through the day and at night would return to the platform of the station to sleep using bricks as pillow under his head. One day he got a cleaning job at Zakariya Hotel and that became the point of his rise in fortune.n this era of mass production, as it is very hard to stand out with one product, AkijGroup focuses on making the best in all sectors. This is multinational companies house. This is very good place. If you need than you can visit this place.

I visited Akij Head Office, I found them a true corporate house with all kind of employee facilities, coffee bar, subsidized lunce, a large prayer room, a large dinning room for all stuff.

Akij Group is a company which started back in 1940 with a legacy and a trust by the most successful businessman Sheikh Akij Uddin who used to think of long term goals. He saves his earnings and invested more and more and got successful and even today his sons are upholding the legacy of their father. Specially I must mention the Managing Director Sheikh Bashir Uddin and the Chairman Sheikh Nasir Uddin. Starting from tobacco business today they have made more than 20 companies. With due rspect I salute the founder Sheikh Akij Uddin and pray for his soul.

Visited there for an organisation visit of JTI. Well organized and decorated. Loved the entire environment. Would recommend to visit.

They 3 parking floors and 14 office floor. About 26 sisters concern Head Office here. They a dining hall at level 6. A charming view from All Floor.
